Payten's parties

On Feb 9, Payten turned 3. Since then we have had a couple of party days. Bryan and I took her to the zoo on her actual birthday. The Nashville zoo is very nice. All the animals were out, walking around and were much closer then the animals at the Portland zoo. We also took her to dinner and had cake. Nothing too much, it was a monday. She kept saying "This is the best day everrr!" She was pretty disappointed when her cake at home was Little Mermaid. We had talked about a Wall-E cake.

The Next weekend (Valentine's weekend) we had a party for her in Florida with Bryans family. On Sat we took at the kids to Triple Play. Which basically is a giant indoor inflatable slide place. They had all kinds of slides and air guns and other things that were fun. Sat., she got to open her presents and was happy to see her Wall-E cake. The following day we took the kids bowling. This is were things with my child got a little bizarre. For one reason or another she felt she needed to pray before she let the ball go, EVERY TIME! "I love Jesus Christ, I love my family, I love this ball..." and a bunch of other stuff we can't understand in her high pitched praying voice she has. Then the praying later turned into singing "This is my favorite song, This is my favorite song, This is my favorite song" over and over... by this time the game had been going on well over an hour. 8 people bowling, 3 kids.. the patience had run out. So we made her keep it short and sweet just to get thru the round. "My magical words, this is the best ball everrrr!!!" Then she'd heave it down the ramp.

In closing I'd like to say, I am not sure why my child is so silly, and where she comes up with this stuff. She is a little odd, but she is not afraid to be who she is and we get a kick out of her. Goof ball for sure, but we love her to death. Happy Birthday stinker.

"Proud Mary" road trip to Memphis

This past weekend, my older sister Angela, Payten and I went to Memphis. Its about 300 miles away. During our trip we found out that Payten has a soul side. So I dedicate that trip to Tina Turner's, Proud Mary. (Big wheels keep on turnin,..) We did get a video of Payten dancing, but that might take me awhile to figure out how to post it here. We must have listened to that song about 7 tmies. Also, we went to Beale St, thats where they close off the road to foot traffic only, they play live music and basically you can walk around with a drink in hand. Well Payten was dancing down the street, loving it, while on lookers loved her. Very entertaining. She also likes, James Brown, Marvin Gaye, Aretha Franklin... on and on. I told her to "shake a your tail feathers" then she informed me "but I don't have a tail?" Yes you're right honey, you have no tail.

p.s. she's 3 today!
